‘The Run’ focuses on Tom, an 11 year old who we see running a lot, either away from danger, or because he is late for school. We also see him running in a positive way, representing his school in a race meeting.

Themes covered include neglect, domestic violence, and county lines. The film shows Tom eventually coming into care, and how his foster family provide stability and security, allowing him to grow and thrive.

‘The Run’ was developed with a number of people that have care experience. They provided some superb ideas and insights, and ensured that the film was produced accurately and sensitively.

As with all the previous films, ‘The Run’ contains emotional and dramatic moments that really engage the target audience, illustrating the powerful impact that fostering can have.

Each council fostering service funding ‘The Run’ got their own branded versions of the film. This includes the full film (around 2 minutes), as well as a branded 30 second edit. Plus five unbranded clips of up to 15 seconds long, and five unbranded clips up to 5 seconds long which feature dramatic/emotional scenes from the film. These shorter clips were provided in landscape and portrait formats, for use on reels etc. In addition, image libraries from the film and ‘behind the scenes’ shots were provided.

To keep the project equitable and affordable, the cost for each service was based on their total number of children in care.
