26 For 26 is a campaign bringing together Foster for Plymouth, Plymouth City Council and churches across Plymouth.
Together, we share an ambition to see 26 new foster carers step forward in 2026, helping local children grow up closer to everything that matters to them.
Churches play a vital role in this partnership. Faith communities are rooted in neighbourhoods, built on compassion, and well placed to encourage, support and walk alongside people who may be exploring fostering for the first time.
Alongside the professional training, financial allowances and support provided by Foster for Plymouth, churches can offer practical help, emotional support and a sense of belonging. This is about working together so that foster carers are never doing this alone.

Working with churches across the city
Over the next twelve months, Foster for Plymouth will be working with churches across the city through Diocese of Plymouth, Transforming Plymouth Together, Churches Together in Plymouth, and Safe Families Home for Good.
Safe Families Home for Good are a Christian charity that work nationally alongside local authorities to help ensure that no family feels alone and every child has a home where they can thrive.
Together with Foster for Plymouth colleagues, the 26for26 team will be holding events throughout the year as well as speaking in churches to talk about fostering and encourage Christians across the city to consider fostering as an option for their families.

As a reminder, you do not need to be a certain age, background or family type to foster. Foster carers come from all walks of life. If you are over 21 and have a spare room, fostering could be an option for you.
You may already feel a nudge to find out more, or you may simply be curious. Either is a good place to start.
